Visit from Commissioner Killins

Dr. Sherri Killins, Commissioner of the Department of Early Education and Care for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts spoke with staff and parents at the Cottage Children’s Center on Monday evening, July 12th.

The Commissioner shared various points of interest with the group including: the scope of the department as well as the goals for the year, the changing regulations, what and why, the disparity between salary and educational background for child care teachers and the possible grant potential going forward. She also toured the center and answered individual questions as she walked around. We were very honored that Dr Killins took the time to spend with us. She told us that increasing communication is at the top of her agenda.
